Ditch Your Purple Shampoo For One Of Toning Products Instead
Let’s be real, nobody wants brassy hair. Brassy hair is not the same as warm toned hair, but that is for another post, another day. A lot of my clients are getting low maintenance, lived in highlighted color and it grows out so nicely that they don’t need to come in for highlight touch ups as often as they used to.
I highly recommend scheduling a cut and gloss every 2-3 months to maintain your hair, but if some clients can handle going 6 months without a trim and prefer to maintain the brass at home with a purple shampoo. However, purple shampoos can be very drying to your hair and if used to frequently can actually cause your blonde hair to look dull.
So if you are wanting to get rid of brass and keep your hair healthy here are some better alternatives to purple shampoo.
Oribe Bright Blonde Conditioner
This is a more luxury option but it’s worth the hype. Not only does it correct brassiness, it also moisturizes and restores elasticity and can be used daily which most purple toning products are not recommended for daily use. This conditioner also helps to easily detangle to help prevent breakage.
Jack Winn Smoke
Just like Frost, this is a lighter formula and has all the beneficial, conditioning ingredients as well. Smoke is more violet based and is the most subtle toning out of the three. Its best for bright blondes who like to combat yellow tones.
Redken Blondage Color Depositing Purple Conditioner
This purple conditioner has ultra violet pigment and Triple Acid Protein complex to tone, strengthen and brighten. Helps detangle and smooth processed or natural blonde hair while keeping color protected and bright
Have you tried one of these purple conditioners out?
