How Often You Should Wash Your Halo

This is a very common question from new halo wearers and it’s not the most simple answer. You want to make sure you are taking the best care of your investment to ensure it lasts as long as possible. However, you may have chose a halo extension for how convenient and how much time it will save you getting ready. Well I have good news for you. You do not need to wash your halo after each wear. Here are a few guidelines to follow to know when it’s time to wash your halo.

HOW FREQUENTLY ARE YOU WEARING YOUR HALO?

If you are wearing your halo every day or most days, It will need to be washed more often to remove oil buildup as well as environment/debris buildup. If you are wearing it only once a week or a few times each month, you can wash every 3 months.

HOW ACTIVE ARE YOU WHILE WEARING YOUR HALO?

Maybe your not wearing it often but when you do, you are active! (Maybe going dancing??) If you work up a sweat, you will definitely want to wash more frequently.

HOW MUCH PRODUCT ARE YOU USING TO STYLE YOUR HALO?

Always make sure you are using a heat protectant when styling your halo. The great thing about halos is they will hold a style for days! So if you are using any styling sprays, creams, foams, gels you will need to wash your halo more often to ensure it wont have any product buildup. Also make sure to be using high quality hair products on your halo, just like you should be on your own hair. Many products on the market contain ingredients that stick to your hair and are actually difficult to completely wash off. My favorite shampoo & conditioner for halos is this ultimate duo

The only products you don’t need to worry about washing out are the HaloCouture Silk Spritz or Goldielocks Serum. They are specifically formulated for the halo hair and help nourish it.

STILL LOST?

Rule of thumb is wash your halo at least every 3 months. But depending on the factors I mentioned, You may need to wash 1x a month. Less is more when it comes to halo extensions, but if your halo starts to appear flat and oily its time to wash! If its dry or dull use the silk spritz or oil to nourish the hair.
