A Complete Guide To Caring For Your Halo

The first question I get asked from a client purchasing their first halo is always, “what do I need to take care of my halo?” Which, honestly just makes me so happy because ultimately I want you to love your halo, and if you take care of it, it will stay looking pretty and you can love it for longer! I want to make sure you have all the information you need to take care of your investment that you have made in your halo extensions so I put together this complete guide for caring for your halo at home.

WASHING

I recommend washing your halo when it starts to feel flat, piece-y or frizzy. The great thing about a halo is you don’t need to wash it often! Over-washing can dry it out, so only wash when necessary.

I recommend using the HaloCouture Regimen Kit. It contains everything you need to take care of your halo and was specifically formulated for the extension hair.

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Wet the extensions with cold water.

  2. Apply Revive Shampoo.

  3. Lather, moving in a downward direction

  4. Rinse with cold water.

  5. Apply Intense Therapy Mask.

  6. Comb through to evenly distribute product.

  7. Leave in for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

  8. Repeat steps 5-7 with Replenish Conditioner.

  9. Wring out excess water and apply 2-3 drops of Serum.

  10. Lay extensions on towel or hang to air dry.

STYLING

Blow drying, curling or straightening your Halo can make the world of difference in how your halo will blend with your natural hair.

The great thing about halos is they hold a style super well! So no need to style every time you wear it. Keep in mind, the less you style it, the longer it will last. But have fun with it! Just make sure you are styling it safely and always remember hydration is key.

STYLING RULES:

  1. You can use heat! But I recommend keeping the temperature at 350 or below

  2. Brush your halo before you put them in and after you take them out.

  3. While brushing use one hand to hold the top of the weft in place and brush starting at the ends working up.

  4. If your extensions feel dry (which will happen after a few wears) then spray them with SPRITZ from HaloCouture OR put a little bit of oil on your hands and run your fingers through the hair to rehydrate.
