3 Ways To Turn Your Instagram Followers Into Clients
You have heard it a million times but follower count is a vanity metric and is absolutely useless to focus or worry about. I know we all get caught up on the number of followers we have and how many likes or views we get, but it means nothing if your followers aren’t booking appointments with you, buying your products, or monetarily supporting your business. Because if you are here reading this post, its because you use social media for your beauty business and those are the goals, right?
Just to hit the nail on the head even harder, let’s compare two scenarios. Stylist A has 10k followers - but her audience follows her because she makes dancing reels at the salon. They are not buying retail or booking appointments because of her content. Stylist B has 500 followers - she shares 1 post a week that is filled with haircare tips, educates her audience about her service offerings and has at least 1 new client inquiry every week and sells at least $500 in product through instagram every month.
Which business is more successful?
You should never feel like your audience isn’t big enough, and once you start valuing them and showing up as authority, you can turn your following into paying customers and clients. Here are the three things you need to do:
Have a strong content strategy
Back to that scenario about Stylist A who posts dancing reels. Thats totally fine IF that is attracting your target audience, part of a complete content strategy and is helping you hit your goals. But you have to make sure your content strategy is well planned, and that you stick to it. If you are needing help with content strategy book a 1:1 social media audit
Talk about your benefits and differentiators
It’s not just about sharing what you do, but it’s HOW you do it. What can clients expect when they book an appointment with you? Why would they choose you over another provider?
Nurture the relationship
I want you to look at how many followers you have. Whatever number that may be, imagine standing at the front of a room of that many people. I will bet no matter what your following number is, that scenario sounds a little overwhelming. Well we forget that even 50 people watching us, learning from us, trusting or being inspired by us is A LOT.
This is the MOST important make sure you are speaking directly to your audience, create content your existing audience wants to see, focus on engaging content and build that trust.
With social media, consistency is so important. When I say consistency, I do not mean you need to post every day. You need to be consistent with how you show up, what you show up with, and who you show up for.
