4 Goals You Should Be Setting For Your Social Media

Like I have discussed in my previous blog post about turning followers into clients, growing your following is not a great goal for social media. It’s a common misconception that if you have more followers, you will have more clients and ultimately will grow your business. However, so many beauty professionals are growing a following without having a plan for what they are going to do after they have build their audience.

This why there are hairstylists with thousands and thousands of followers who may seem successful but dont actually make that much money, and then there are hairstylists with hundreds or just a few thousand followers who are absolutely crushing it.

If you have a plan in place and track the right numbers, you can start to better understand what is working and what isn’t, where your strengths are and what you can work on and really grow your business through social media. These 4 goals are things you have probably heard of or are familiar with. But the gold is in the action. You can either focus on one goal at time for a set period of time and then move to the next or you can rotate through with each post you share and cycle through that way. Whatever works best for you, but whats important is you stay consistent.

Goal 1: brand awareness

an increase of people who know about you aka build your community.

how: consistently following a strong content strategy, paid ads, engaging and actively being social on other’s pages or accounts.

Goal 2: boost engagement

create new relationships within your community and nurture your existing ones to start building trust.

how: paid ads, share on your stories, ask your audience questions, create high value content that is “like, share & comment worthy”

Goal 3: lead generation

taking those new relationships you have built and guide them into your sales funnel. Which is a fancy saying for a way to continue the relationship until they decide to book or buy. Don’t have a sales a funnel? A great place to start is by building an email list using AWeber and starting an automated email campaign. This is something I help you with in my ‘Master Your Marketing’ course.

how: paid ads, clickable content, free downloads, discounts or extra value offerings

Goal 4: sales

after following the first 3 steps you can now promote what you offer.

how: paid ads, share reviews, announce a promotion, utilize CTAs (calls to action)
